This Week in Fashion: LuxInside exhibit, Ideal Charity Fashion Show, and designer sample sales

This Week in Fashion rounds up the week's style news, store openings and closings, pop-up shops, sales and upcoming fashion and design events in Toronto. Find it here every Wednesday morning.

EVENTS

LuxInside, Traces of Man, a travelling art exhibit, is landing in Holt Renfrew locations across Canada over the next nine months. The collective brings art and science together by illuminating the quality craftsmanship of luxury objects - like a Gibson guitar and a pair of Louboutins - via medical scanner. The first location to be graced with the 14 beautiful photographs is Yorkdale, so catch it from tomorrow (May 22) to June 16, or wait until it returns to Toronto in September.

Tomorrow evening at 7:30 pm, watch Narces, Malorie Urbanovitch, and Arthur Mendonca present their collections at Ideal - a fashion show in support of the SickKids-Caribbean Pediatric Blood Disorder and Cancer fund. The event, to be held at Casa Loma (1 Austin Terrace), includes a runway show, silent auction, art exhibit, Rolex raffle, performance by JRDN, food, drinks, and an afterparty. Tickets are available online at $50.

LANGsura, a womenswear line, is hosting their first ever Toronto pop-up shop. From tomorrow (May 22) until Saturday (May 24), see their body-hugging summer dresses and flirty crop tops in the flesh at Norman Felix Gallery (445 Adelaide St. West) - and do it all with a drink in hand from the newly opened bar!

Fashion trucks are gaining momentum! This Friday (May 23) from 11:30 am until 8 pm, and Saturday (May 24) from 10 am until 6 pm, MALA Go-tique will be parked at the corner of Queen and Soho to hawk current-season womenswear by the likes of Free People, J Brand and more. Plus, Ceramic Glaze will be on hand with nail polish giveaways, shoppers can receive style advice from a Pinterest influencer, and all are welcome to be "tattooed" by an on-site henna artist.

Every Wednesday until the end of June, J.Crew on Bloor (110 Bloor St. West) is holding different events to make shopping for spring a little more interesting. Next week (May 28) is all about denim, and the week after (June 4) is a meet-and-greet with fashion bloggers. Other fun offers include fresh pressed juices and ice cream (with sprinkles!).

SALES

Pop by the Liberty Market Building (171 East Liberty St.) for a Toronto designer sample sale. Clothing, shoes and accessories from over 30 menswear and womenswear designers will be available at lower-than-low prices, including pieces by Rachel Sin and Philip Sparks. The sale runs from tomorrow (May 22) until Saturday (May 24).

Jenny Bird - a local name in jewellery - is offering her edgy yet feminine pieces at 50 - 70% at a two-day sample sale inside Strada 241 (241 Spadina Ave.). Head over from noon until 7 pm on Friday (May 23) or 10 am until 6 pm on Saturday (May 24) to snag a sweet deal on bohemian jewels and fringe-dazzled purses.
