This Week in Fashion: Designer appearances, a party at Stylexchange, new Danier collaborations, Drake General Store sale & other quick shopping tips

This Week in Fashion is a weekly round up of what's being talked about - or bitched about - in Toronto's style scene.

Designer appearances go head-to-head at The Bay and Holts tomorrow
Jewellery superstar Alexis Bittar hits Holt Renfrew's main floor tomorrow at 10 a.m. for a trunk show and personal appearance. You're invited. Down on Queen St., Parisian designer Barbara Bui will showcase her spring/summer 2012 collection at The Room, and will Q+A with Jeanne Beker, starting at 12 p.m. That one's a little harder to get into, but those who head down will still get a glance and taste the frenzy.

Stylexchange + Little Burgundy + ION mag = one party at Queen/Spadina tonight
Quebec-based retailer Stylexchange continues its Ontario takeover with an event tonight at the Queen West outpost. In conjunction shoe shop Little Burgundy and indie pub ION mag, it's all about illusions: what's real and what's fake. There's also a special treat planned with performance queens Ivory Towers and Heroine Marks. Look forward to a 30 per cent discount on your purchase. Find out more here.

Danier announces another set of Canadian collaborations for spring/summer 2012
Leather lovers rejoice. Danier unveiled it will offer a capsule collection from local favourite Philip Sparks next spring, and shoppers will also see the return of OBJECT by stylist George Antonopoulos. Sparks will introduce men's accessories for spring (a welcome upgrade in that category for the brand) and will include everything from backpacks to iPad cases. Antonopoulos will continue designing womenswear, with the addition of wallets, clutches, and bags.

Quick tip: Shop Ashley Rowe's pop-up starting tomorrow
Splatter/tie-dye/minimalist queen Ashley Rowe is holding court at 198 Walnut Ave. from Thursday to Saturday. Shop 'til you drop.

One-day sale time at all Drake General Store locations
On Wednesday, November 9 (that's one week today), the Drake General Stores across town are hosting a friends + family sale. And guess what? We all qualify. Stop in for 20 per cent off all regular-priced merch. They're staying open late, too - so you know the gettin' is good. (1144 Queen Street West, 1011 Yonge Street, 82A Bathurst Street).

Milestones: Pink Tartan designer's Seventy Seven & Ukamaku
Kudos are in order for Kimberley Newport-Mimran's Yorkville retail store Seventy Seven, and online retailer of Canadian designers Ukamaku. They're both celebrating one-year anniversaries with celebrations occurring over the next two weeks.
