Street Style: Cooler Weather Looming
With the summer ending, here come the long sleeves! Sort of. I decided to walk around and stalk the core starting at Yonge & Dundas walking down to Queen St., strolling along to Spadina Ave when I went north to Dundas St., only to find myself back where I started.

well it's not like toronto is known for its own unique style! at least we're trying!
On an unrelated topic, Kadeem is hot.
p.s. nice pedo glasses.
could you find a worse dressed less creepy person?
unlikely
And I agree, Kadeem is hot. Elika reminds me of Scarlett Johanson, and Andrew is definitely the most interesting of the bunch.
You really have no idea what you're talking about.
how is andrew's look terrible? his style is amazing and not a lot of people can pull that off. So what if pedo glasses and stashes are in? you gotta give dude some credit for HAVING A LITTLE BIT OF FUN. if you think somebody that dresses like this takes it completely serious, then you should consider shopping at other places outside of mexx and le chateau.
Anyway, kudos to the author. I admit at the beginning I thought it was the content, and it might have been, but I understand how hard your assignment must be now. Do I pick the generic passers-by that'll be decried as unimaginative and or do I pick the interesting people -- and seriously, Andrew's the only one I see that did a great job playing with texture and colour -- that'll be likened to abusers of young children?
Tough work.
If you want to know why Andrew's look is horrible, it's because all he's done is rehashed a Canadian look from the late-70s; he's done nothing to update it or to make it his own. Just because he has a sense of humour about it doesn't mean it's good fashion.
Remember when parachute pants were the hot thing?
Just because it's in style doesn't mean it's good fashion.
While I agree Andrews entire look may seem a little over the top, don't ignore the facts of style just because of bad posture, weird stance and a pair of glasses
Ah hail Thom Browne:

I personally would enjoy seeing a better cross section of style, with different types of people in different age, expertise, and size levels all represented. Otherwise we do get this monotonous style where everyone looks the same, and it becomes boring fast.
I BlogTO caught me off guard when I was on my way to a screening of Dogtooth.
To answer Kanye's question, I love beige&navy and green&navy contrasts, so I was trying to mix these palettes. Similarly, I wanted to play with velvet on knit on linen. I also like Phillip Lim's take on a cardigan by layering it with two rows of buttons. So I guess that's what I was going for.
I'll work on my posture and I'm sorry I'm pear-shaped.
btw I really like Elika's outfit. The stripes are so good with the beige.
Also, to set the record straight, I'm not a convicted pedophile.
And no offense btw. I dress pretty conservatively and to me, you're obviously going for a certain look.
Terry Richardson looks like a pedophile and he's still hot. Rock what you want, I say.
I acknowledge what you're trying to do (if it is in fact intentional) but frankly you've taken the direction to a slight extreme. When people are too goth, or too hip hop... when people are too extreme in general, it's not a good look.
You look like you were plucked straight out of the late 80's... but you are a writer so I can understand. I personally don't like it, but I can definitely respect it.
Boom. There's my two cents.
P.S. - I personally know how hard it is to go out and photograph people in the city. Who knows, there could have been some better styled people, but they may have said no or were on the other side of the street. It's not an easy job and for what it's worth, there's 44 comments!
That goes for all the other subjects: whatever you're wearing, it's not really about the clothes, but how you wear 'em.
Maybe the photographer is partially at fault for not bringing the best out of his/her subjects. I think if s/he did, then blogTO readers wouldn't complain so much.
With that said, though, I like these profiles. Keep bringing them on!
Why all the harshness? Regardless of whether or not you like something, the clothing worn by others doesn't affect you at all.
Abercrombie and Fitch offends my personal sensibilities but I don't accuse *everyone* who wears it of being a date rapist.
p.s. Andrew looks awesome.
it's unfortunate that so many of blogTOs commenters have nothing better than to resort to name calling. pedophile. really? how old are you? andrew, don't listen to these people. your fashion is exquisite and with nothing else to criticize, they've resorted to name-calling! don't worry though, we don't see any of them in fashion blogs now do we?
Thanks so much!
It's Andrew's 'stache that creeps my out the most...
WOOO! DEFENSE DEFENSE!
Kudos to you, Andrew, for owning your look.
And I'm leaving Andrew out of this.
