Toronto Fashion Week Videos: Opening Night

Posted by Tim / March 17, 2009

Over in our Toronto Fashion Week section we've uploaded our first two videos from last night - both from David Dixon's runway shows. He got things going with his Fall 2009 Collection but topped the night off with his much anticipated Barbie-themed show.

The video of Dixon' Fall 2009 Collection (shot/edited by Istoica) is above. The Barbie one is here. And we'll be posting all of our videos to YouTube and our Toronto Fashion Week Vimeo channel throughout Fashion Week.

Am I the only one that thinks this stuff is overdone and full of sh**?

The whole deal seems a little superficial to me.

The show was absolutely beautiful, and I feel lucky to have witnessed it! Beautiful and inspired pieces.

Well, Bigger, everyone has different interests. I'm sure plenty of women who attend Fashion Week couldn't give a shit about sports or the Leafs, yet there are plenty of people out there who obsess about them like they actually matter in some way.

Interesting that you think only women attend Fashion Week and men attend sports events. Didn't realize I was living in the 19th Century. My bad.

Hey Bigger than 00 - where does he say only men attend sports events?! I'm sure he also meant PEOPLE who attend Fashion Week..

I'm confused as to why people would bother commenting on something that they have no interest in... must have too much time on their hands!

What would fashion be if it weren't superficial?

By superficial, if you mean the clothes are worn on the outside of the body, then you are absolutely right.

come'on liz.....he doesnt get that superficiality is the point, it's wonderful decadence.....i applaud any creative instinct that takes us away from that damned grungy style that killed eveything, and brounght back, of all things, brown chords.
