Sunglasses and Necklace

My Paved Runway - Jessica Nguyen

Fall is by far my favourite time of the year. All the leaves on the trees are turning bright, fiery colours; and I can legitimately wear a woolly hat without people questioning my sanity. Seeing Jessica's bright purple definitely gets me in the mood for the month ahead.

Leggings and leopard-print jacket

Who: Jessica Nguyen, 21, Student/Retail Employee

Spotted: Bloor and Avenue Rd.

How would you describe your style?
A bit edgy but very comfortable at the same time.

What are you wearing right now?
I'm wearing a lot of Zara because I work there. My jacket is from H&M. The [birdcage] necklace is from H&M and the other ones are just collected from friends.

How did you dress at 15 years of age?
I was a bit more punk-y and I wore a lot of black, which I still do but I guess it's a bit more sophisticated now.

What stores do you enjoy shopping at?
I like Value Village even though I don't get the chance to go by there a lot. I really like the kids section at H&M because it fits me.

How tall are you?
I'm about five foot...about.

Do you find it difficult trying to find clothing that matches with your style?
Yes, but a lot of the clothing I do alter. I took fashion in high school.

Is that something you want to pursue?
Well something similar, I'm taking jewelry design in school.

What are you going to be wearing for the fall/winter season?
My summer outfits are basically what I wear throughout the winter, I just layer up a lot more.

Do you have any style icons?
The old 20's actresses. I really like the androgynous look and a lot of monochrome colours.

What is the one item in your wardrobe that you're willing to spend more money on?

wingtipped shoes

I would say coats. I haven't really found a nice fall coat yet but it's something I'm looking for. Something with a big cowl neck collar.
