Run, Stella, Run
If you haven't already heard, Stella McCartney did a limited edition collection for H&M and it was released today. If you do not know who she is, Stella is the progeny of Linda and Sir Paul McCartney. (Yes, the Beatle) Famous in her own right, for her fashion talent, Miss Stella first created waves in the industry when she took over the reins of Chloe. Breathing new life into the company, she brought a certain feminine flare in a time when most fashion houses were headed by men. Bolstered by the commercial success of Chloe, Stella soon branched out under her own name.
According to my sources, (those lucky fashion editors, who have already been there and shopped), the collection is absolutely divine. Beautiful, tailored jackets, sexy skinny leg pants and feminine chiffon blouses. If you are in the vicinity of one, all I can say is ,"RUN, RUN, RUN!"
If you're unable to go, you can always drool with me by viewing the link.
The collection is at the following H&M Stores - Toronto Eaton Centre (1 Dundas Street West), Bloor Street (15 Bloor Street W) and Yorkdale Shopping Centre (1 Yorkdale Road)

I predict that in a month or so, you will see pieces floating around the sales racks of H&M marked down significantly, once the hype dies down like it did with the Lagerfeld collection.
All that's left are the STELLA printed tees ($24.90) as well as some keychains. Some customers that were smart enough to just grab whatever they can and buy them returned some stuff today with people peeking over their shoulders in hopes of getting their hands on them as the cashier places them back on the sales floor.
The Stella Mc Cartney collection did better than the Karl Lagerfeld collection from last year. Although Lagerfeld catered to both genders, the design, fabrics, and the price were just right -- a perfect combination.
Bitter customers who weren't able to get pieces for themselves don't have a clue on what the word "exclusive" means. The Bloor St. store had the press before the store opened. They had time to shop before the public. However, the majority of the garments were kept in the back in order for the public to relish in.
I went to the store today in hopes of running into someone returning some garments when I saw some woman yelling at a worker in regards to the Stella Mc Cartney collection. Apparently, she was mad that the media got to shop first before the public and she starts bitching about Jeanne Beker. She demanded to get a hold of the country manager and tells the worker that she's going to set up a picket line. Face it, lady, you wouldn't have heard about the collaboration if it weren't for the media/press. Suck it up! You'll find better luck finding stuff on e-bay because the country manager probably can't do anything for you. Sold out means sold out! Talk about arrogance and nerve. I hope she freezes to hell while forming that picket line tomorrow.
Also, it does suck that people would go off on the employees about the exclusivity of the collection. Especially since I also heard that they were not given any special privileges or access to the Stella stuff themselves.
We weren't able to put any Stella Mc Cartney items on hold for us employees as well as the customers. The only thing we got is the printed Stella shirt because we had to use it as uniform on the day of the launch.
