Trend Custom Tailors

Posted by Staff / Posted on October 7, 2011

Trend Custom TailorsTrend Custom Tailors offer a friendly and laid back experience. Much like their master tailor, there's not a lot of pretension with this group. Located on the east side of Toronto, they find their clientele is looking for an understated look. All of the cutters and seamstresses are located on site, so there is a family atmosphere here. Academics and NDPers should buy their suits here. Starting price for all of this love is $1450.

I had my first bespoke suit made here and I couldn't be happier. The suit was beautiful, the staff were incredibly nice and made me feel valued as a patron. There was a slight misquote on the price and I ended up paying a little more than I thought I would, but that could have been avoided pretty easily if I was a little more direct with Don (the master tailor).

The experience was great but, more importantly, so is my suit. I've never been so happy with any item of clothing.

I have had suits, slacks and my tuxedo tailored from this company. While I have not been to this location but dealt with this company on Spadina. It is the same crew and I look forward to future service from them. The material and craftsmanship was superb and I am sure that Don is still as capable.

This is Dons house and he treats he's employees like animals, I guess thats how he gets to make them look expensive. I worked for him for 3 month hand stitching with the promise he was gonna help me with rent and then he fired me after 3 month saying I was not good enough for not coming every day 7 days a week staying from 9am to 8pm and I only agreed in a normal full time. anyways this is the man who you will be giving you money and If I where you I would go somewhere else where there is more integrity.

I worked for Don for 3 month and I want to say, it seams that he enjoys to see he's employees working like animals, constantly offending them by saying things like "faster faster that the doctor who is more important than you is waiting for his jacket" and as far as my coo-workers there said, they where all being under paid maybe cause the staff is made by mainly elder skilled hands and interns who come and go every 3 month as for the moment I was there I saw 2 interns come and go, plus the stories of the staff saying that they have seen at least a 100 come and go disappointed, and who could blame them I mean even I was afraid, with the verbal abuse of Don everyday and with the working conditions I mean, another example of this was having to work for the first 2 weeks of January everybody working with there winter jackets cause there heating was not working, plus I never saw one fire extinguisher and not one smoke detector or water sprinklers, in wooden house filled with cloth.
In summary I guess thats how he gets to make them suits look expensive. I worked for him for 3 month hand stitching for 8 hours from 9am to 5pm with the promise he was gonna pay a thousand dollars per month and then he fired me after working 3 month he only paid me a thousand dollars saying I was not good enough for not coming 7 days a week and staying from 9am to 8pm like everybody else and I only agreed in a normal full time. So at last because I couldn't come on a sunday he fired me by the hone saying that I was also distracting the other employees that came every day (distracting the exploited).
Last example I have is, about the ex-supplier he owes money to. I met at least 5 who directly expressed there disrespect about this man that does promises and does not keep them.
