Just went to Sophia's today for a reload on bras and have to say it was a great experience. The fitters are friendly and, yes, you have to lose your shyness, but they are very discreet. The bras are not cheap but the difference between a well-fitted bra and a cheapo from the Bay can't be disputed. The store was busy with lots of chatter between the changerooms and the occasional announcement that someone's husband/boyfriend was out front waiting. Quite a fun experience.

For the past few years I've bought bras at Sophia's and been very happy. However, this past weekend I needed to purchase support garments for my wedding dress. I wasn't particularly happy with what I purchased but wasn't sure if I could do better. After coming home and thinking about it, I went online and ordered Spanx which as it turns out is exactly what I needed. As I've never needed to return anything to Sophia's before, I hadn't bothered to read the print on the receipt: NO REFUNDS NO EXCHANGES. So I'm sitting here with $140 worth of garments I have not worn and will never wear. Not impressed. Will never go back to Sophia's again. And I will make sure I ask before I purchase. Never occurred to me there was a NO REFUND policy. Just keep this in mind if you choose to shop here.

Jane,
Really? Do you know any place that'll allow you to return under garments? Wal-mart wont even let you.. Its a health hazard to allow the return of those items & would you WANT to buy something that someone else had on their crotch or boobs? HECK NO!

Anyways.. My friend took me here as I was having problems finding a bra that fit my cup size & frame... I'm a VERY shy person & do not like to be touched. Those ladies made me feel so comfortable I had no issues being sized/fitted.

They even told me how to wash them properly so I could possible get years out of them. Its going on 1.5 yrs & they are still in really good shape.

I would not shop at any store that allowed you to return under garmnets. How do they know if you have used them or not?

It is totally unsanitary and as I need to be fitted I will shop at Sophia's because of their policy

Worst customer service and only mediocre selection. Waited 10 minutes for someone to help me while an older Greek woman kept staring at me but walked away when I asked for help. Finally some half bald woman shouted at me, "you want to buy something today?" Will never step foot in this place and wouldn't recommend it for the products either.

That's gross. I won't be shopping there.

I came to sophia's for a fitting and really felt like the sales women I got was really nice but I wasn't even sure that everything fit properly. I ended up leaving with 1 item but don't really wear it often.

In short: customer serive is brusque and just a little bit snarky, which is fine if you get what you need and totally unacceptable if you've been led to believe they can help you, and then are made to feel as though you've offended someone when you follow up on your order. Sales associates are rude and unhelpful on the phone, and clearly don't work well with each other. I won't be spending a cent here (although selection was great!), and urge others not to until they undergo a bit of an attitude adjustment.

For those of you who don't want to buy something that "someone else had on their crotch or boobs" how many bras did you try on before you found one that fit properly?

And do you think that the store owner disposed of those bras because you tried them on?

There is no lingerie store that takes returns! This is underwear we are talking about, would you want to pay top dollar for USED undies? I think not.

I have been shopping at Sophia's for years and I recommend them to every woman I know. They are knowledgable, kind and go out of their way to ensure you have the proper fit. I was shopping once for a bustier and they didn't have one that fit me properly. Not only did the sales person spend over one hour with me to try on everything they had in stock, she ordered several different styles for me over the course of two months! Finally, one fit me perfectly! Now, that is service and commitment to their customers! You don't find that just anywhere. I would never shop in a fine lingerie shop that allowed you to return your purchases.

I have been shopping at Sophia's for almost 2 years. Wish I had gone in years ago! As a "not well endowed" woman, I am finally out of the teen section! and have choice in style and colour! Although the items are pricey, they are pretty and fit well under all my clothes. I have been delighted! The assistants changed the bra sizes two of my sisters thought they were and the difference is noticable in the fit of their clothing. We took the young neices in, so they won't be afraid of fittings and the giggling in the change room was music in the store! we are going back very soon as the girls should be "refit". They are delighted with this Christmas gift.
If you have never been fitted, go with a friend and have fun!

Well, how nice for you( the one's that were treated so well & all), are you all related???

My friend just went there not long ago & she asked "How does this work? I've never been fitted"

to which they replied ,

"Just go in the change room & we'll keep bringing you bra's until you find the one's that you like "
How unprofessional & stupid of YOU to treat her in this manner!!

not to mention your business lost a considerable sale that day...tsk tsk shame on you!!!

Depending on what the items is some bras are donated at Sistering, or at Good Will or even Value Village.

Sophia's are a no-nonsense, unpretentious, get down to business store. I was treated kindly, respectfully, and was offered alternatives while I waited for my size to be ordered. I would definately shop there again and I would definately recommonde Sophias to find the bra that fits yo.

To be honest, I waited an hour to be be fitted for a bra. My girlfriend went ahead of me and apparently got a wonderful younger women who helped her try on at least 12 bras.. I however.. With a 36 EEE. Had to wait in line, after a 80 yr old women came in after me. I understand respecting your elders, however, I felt brushed aside and not taken care of. The older women that "fit me" only gave me one bra to try on and told me " there, go walk in it" so I walked in it and to be honest it felt like shit.. And I told her that.. So she said "loosen the straps" and did it for me.. I didn't like the bra, to be honest I wore it tonight at work, and I will never wear it again.. But she rushed me out of the change room and I felt obligiated to buy it it.. I have huge jugs. And it takes me 32years to be fitted for a bra.. Yet, I was brushed aside and not even explained what to look for in a bra or even what my actual bra size is. I would recommend this store if your an old Greek woman, because chances are you will be pushed up to the top of the list.. Or if your a skinny tall brunette. I am not either of those and am now stuck with a shitty bra and $100 less. I never write reviews. I think they are super gay and pathetic. However, I felt super neglected by this place. What a disappointment. I will never go here again. Way to make a insecure women feel less important. Total 2 thumbs down.

Head over heels in love with Sophia's. It's super old school, but really swear by the place. They love me back too. Sorry to hear of the poor experiences. Definitely approach with an open and friendly mind is the best advice I can give.

Hi I'm always so sad to hear of any women not getting good service and advice in any store, they should always be courteous to every customer of any age group or size.
I wise some of you ladies were coming to Scotland UK as you would get the size you need and what and style, and try on anything you so desire, as for Underwear I personally fit all my ladies and I mean I go into the fitting room and help them into the garment on even control wear and ensure what happens to my garments, unless the customer is very shy or really doesn't wish ,me too then I also respect that also, we have to let each customer feel at ease.
Its always best to wash any garment like undies first before you wear them. here in the UK no item is returnable whatever it is as when you purchase it its yours only department store give refunds we can offer a replacement or voucher if there is a problem but briefs control wear never unless its damaged then we request the lady returns it washed so we can examine it and send it back.
I understand frustration in any women not happy with their bra and I don't endorse selling only expensive ranges either I sell good quality wear and but them for their quality, fit, design and sizes availability in the ranges. which is important especially in the financial climate and teach women to always wash by hand never ever put it in the machine no matter how old it is.
We fit from a 28 back to 46 and larger if needed, and an A cup to a O now and our companies go through the alphabet with the doubles too like DD GG etc so the very best size ranges.
I will be setting my site up with a proper fitting guide later on this year so women can get a better idea how bra's as sizes which I will add a blog to tell you how sizes are sizing too.
that way when you buy something you have a better chance of it fitting you that not as online companies have to accept returns.
I will also be posting word wide too.
So get in touch if I can help anyone for the ranges I do as Bestform, Curvy Kate, Parfait, Affinitas, Krisline which is going up to an O this year and larger cups sizing for Nursing and maternity bra's also, they have a very good range in beautiful styles shapes colours and sizes offered more than the UK companies. curvy Kate is doing a strapless to a J cup but it will only be to a certain back size but great for the market too.
and prices start from £30 which is roughly $60 to $65.00 dollars.
So if I can help anyone please get in touch
