Fashion Stores
SHOPNYLA
SHOPNYLA has been a Rosedale staple for almost five years, but it recently moved to a larger storefront to house its New York (NY) and Los Angeles (LA) wares in a minimal, Miami-inspired space.
Co-owner Andria Boyd makes a trip once a month each to NYC and LA to pick up lines like Catherine Malandrino, Helmut Lang, Missoni, Current/Elliott, Tucker, Parker, and plenty of J Brand jeans. "Our clothes are feminine, playful, and airy--like a vacation!" says Boyd.
The clothes definitely have a more casual vibe, but the lines are clean and the fabrics luxurious. There are soft cottons for sleepy days, like black Splendid harem capris ($98), thin James Perse basics ($60--$125), heather-gray open-back JET tanks ($95), and the lovely line Kain ($98--$125), which has a variety of tops, from an utra-long electric-orange number to a one-pocket cobalt tee.
Outerwear is covered, too, like the massive peplum Line sweater ($165) and the black wool Vince boyfriend blazer ($570), and some nice leathers--my favourites include Line's ruffle-necked jacket ($600), Blank's skinnies ($250), and Veda's to-die-for asymmetrical motorcycle jacket with knit panels ($895).
Twelfth Street by Cynthia Vincent is a stand-out brand carried by the shop--her fancy-wear is always amazing, whether it's a one-shouldered feather-patterned black and celadon silk frock ($490) or a strapless black silk jumpsuit ($525).
Another brand I'd never heard of but was delighted to discover here is Amanda Uprichard--her silk dresses are extremely simple, but breathtaking in their dazzling colours and timeless cuts. Pick out a broad t-shirt dress in emerald, ice, or navy ($275), or a chic little ruffle-front fuschia cocktail dress ($235). Sling a Foley + Corinna tote ($495--$595) over your shoulder and you're ready to go.
I can't make it out to Los Angeles or New York that often, but SHOPNYLA will definitely tide me over until then.

Over priced? pretty sure they sell the same/similar merchandise and have the same prices as Holt renfrew and TNT...if not better.
The only difference in my opinion between those stores is that at holts and tnt they only pay attention to you if they know you're going to spend lots of money!
Actually, at Nyla the girls are super friendly and always make an effort to show me new pieces. They never pressure me to shop, they even give suggestions on how i can put togther outfits that are at home. To those who say the service is bad...its hard to believe we're talking about the same store.
They have the worst customer service I have ever encountered. Trust me I'm an avid shopper - you know one that will eat less for the sake of beautiful clothes. The staff and owner have serious attitude and never seem to appreciate my business. The return policies are oppressive and they have no flexibility especially given that I have been a long standing customer,
There are stories I could tell- like not letting me exchange a dress (albeit one week after the "exchange policy") and the exact same dress was still on their shelves!! AND I wanted to exchange it for a more expensive dress. She was beyond rude and I was so shocked,
While some of the clothes are nice But EXTREMELY OVERPRICED . Other stores offer better clothes and are often on sale with better service. I suggest after reading this blog you should not goto shop Nyla and go to a place that actually want your business and has a good vibe:
- canopy blue
- narwhal
- body blue
- Jonathan + Olivia
- TNT
