Revival Couture

Posted by Staff / Posted on June 16, 2011

Revival CoutureRevival Couture was born from the retail genius of owner-duo Christine Hadden and Donna Nesrallah. The shop carries gently-used clothing and accessories from high-end labels like Chanel Chloe and D&G. The products are so carefully selected and merchandised, you might not suspect they were second-hand. Good finds? Pink suede YSL platform pumps and a one-shoulder ruffle Kabi dress.

for how much?
Consignment Junkie / October 31, 2011 at 04:31 pm
They're items start at $500. Every pair of shoes I looked at were over $500. Obviously this is because they stock things which would be much more expensive at their original price. But while they have some nice pieces, but I don't know if I would call it "retail genius" like the article above. There are other great consignment stores in the city that I like better, but it does a nice job of sifting for you.

consignment store for the 'haves' - only they can afford to pay the prices which 'start' at $500.00. Not for the 'working girl' trying to pay her bills and dress well for the office.

very snobby sales person. Only spoke to me when I was alone in the store. Kept walking in on me in the dressing room when I was in the middle of changing. Aggressively pushed clothing that were objectively unflattering and way over priced just to make a sale. Anyone who is over a size 4 will have trouble finding anything at all. Upon buying a pair of boots, i had requested to be called when anything in a size 6 would come in. I was told...."sorry we dont do that and we only call our good customers" I will not step foot in there again.

Will never ever set foot in this store and will badmouth it to everyone in my circle. I've built up a vast collection over the years and have never consigned. I thought maybe I'd try it out with a handful of Givenchy pieces (my favourite of the moment) After googling, I called this store to enquire as to their process. The arrogant woman who answered the phone was extremely rude and unwelcoming. I would assume if they did not want to consign any more items, they would at least try to welcome possible customers to buy all the (what looked like mostly outdated, unpopular items) for sale in their store. But nope. Based on what I saw on their site, my closet is too good for this place! I would rather donate all my unwanted and unworn or barely worn ss13 givenchy pieces/handbags than ever do business with this place!

"Retail genius"? More like obnoxious, intrusive, aggressive owner, bad vibes, overpriced stinky stuff, off-putting shopping experience. I gave the place two chances since it opened both were unpleasant. My advice is stay clear.
The owner posted herself on a chair like a bull dog looking thru the curtain of the change room as I changed, aggressively demanding why I didn't like a dress - that may have had a good label but was not chic vintage, was simply way out of style with huge 80s shoulders, and smelled bad. I was taken aback by her aggressive manner, and yet held back from insulting her and telling her the dress stunk like an old basement closet. I am a sophisticated, pleasant, respectful shopper. After returning the (useless) items I'd tried on to their hangers, I pleasantly asked the owner about consigning, and mentioned a Celine bag (BNWT) i had to offer. She snapped at me that she has "good" consignment customers she gets all her stuff from, (so I'm what, a "bad" consignment customer?) and isn't interested in "a" bag - as if it was a pathetic offer. She's entitled to her store policy. But not to being obnoxious to a pleasant customer. One gets the sense they have a few shopaholics who dump their stuff on them and keep them stocked. But If you are a mean, envious woman, what are you doing in retail? Never going back again. Btw, If you'e looking for a lovely retail experience, I suggest The Cat's Meow - those women are awesome, knowledgeable, charming, and unlike the cow at this place, attractive. shopping there is a total delight.
