Don't know how they keep going so long. I started stopping in there over 10 years ago (when I was working in the neighbourhood) and still stop every few weeks whenever I'm walking by. Customer service is usually non-existent - gruff and condescending at best. Selection isn't that great and reminds me of shopping at one of those mall stores that don't carry major brands. Colour palette is monotone in an attempt to be hip, but its just comes off as dull. Nothing really that interesting to be found here.

My guess is that they are trying to be *upscale* compared to the rest of the street (i.e. Le Chateau, Mexx, H&M, Zara, etc...) but really fall short of the style and quality you will find on Bloor/Yorkville for not much more money.

If you're a student or 20-something clubber looking to impress your friends or buy your first suit without looking like your dad, give it a try, otherwise, forget it.

I went to all of the stores listed on this site and Boomer had the best looking suits - every one I tried on looked great. They are also competitively priced against other stores like Got Style, where I found the sales persom to be of questionable utility. One of the proprietors (Dan I think...?) was very helpful. Highly recommend a visit to this store if you are in the market for a suit. Nice suits start at around $700 for a Tiger of Sweden.

Don't waste your time going to this store, not only you'll find very limited selections, the owner looks miserable all the time. So forget about customer service, because it is non-existent here. The owner follows you around while browsing and when you try to checkout an item, the owner or whoever that old guy is, make sure that you've placed back the item the way it was...

I had never owned a suit until now. I did my search and found out about Boomer from a friend. I walked in and "that old guy" gave me and my girlfriend the best service and advice I could have asked for.

I am a younger guy and do not look like your average suit buyer. Other stores did not give me the time of day. The guy at Boomer took his time and explained what and why I should buy the suit I did.

Great service and suit......

I have been going to Boomer for over 20 years. I use to go there and to Fab.

It is a small store with limited selection, but if your sense of style fits their sense of style you have something to look at and try on (e.g. Tiger). I guess the upside is that they know their product line.

I have to agree with the "questionable" customer service. The "old guy" has a selective attitude toward customers. I suppose that I did not look like the clientele they are cultivating. Thumbs down.

I had a few friends that needed suits for a wedding this summer and they went to Boomer, I sent them there.

As usual the service was great and they got suited up with great suits.

You people might be mistaking the service with not being jumped on like some other stores I have visited. If you need help your gonna get it from this store....happy again.

Whenever I'm in the area I always check out what's new at Boomer, yes the selection is limited, but every piece that I've purchased from them has always been a hit.

Its actually a nice change to not have a salesperson breathing down my neck, following my every step.
Take a minute to chat with Joseph, he's a pretty cool guy that knows his product.

It's definitely one of those places that tends to ignore the younger looking people, but I agree with other commenters that the service here is great once they know you're a customer.

Just bought a suit at boomer and I can say it is the best fitting suit I have ever worn. The selection is limited but the styles they have are relevant. If you want a Costco type approach to buying suits then go to Tom's. If you want something a little more high end at a decent price then check out boomer.

Also, I am not sure where these customer service issues are coming from but if you are looking a best friend I would suggest you go to a bar and not a clothing store.

My personal experience was a great one; found what I was looking for very easily. I agree that the selection is somewhat limited but at least they know their merchandize well and able to help their customers.
