TWM/NXNE: Janitors, Walrus, Rulers of the Moon, Violent Mae, Aircraft, The Pinz
Night 4 of TWM's run at Rancho for NXNE and the return of the Rulers of the Moon with their brand spankin' new lineup! Also joining them on the bill are psych indie rockers Walrus, garage-punk outfit Janitors and amazing a surf/psych-pop band called Aircraft. Expand for full info, set times etc:

Over the years the only time Jacksonville ever came up was when talking about their football team and during fantasy football that is until I met The Pinz! The Pinz are an excellent indie-rock blurred with poppy punk bringing to mind earlier Green Day type stuff.

Aircraft play psyched 70's style surf pop and are based out of Buffalo. Easily one of my favourite and most addictive bands playing Rancho for NXNE and one of the better bands playing the whole festival. Get out early for it!

Than we have a great band from Hartford home of the Whale RIP and apparently some pretty damn rockin' music as well. The vocals might make you think of PJ Harvey and the rest of the band rounds out the sound to give you a darkly brooding indie-rock sound.

A few months back Rulers of the Moon was up against it and their future was in doubt. Founding member Casey Lyons had left the band leaving them with a void at guitar and in backgrounds vocals as well. But the band wouldn't let that take them down. NXNE marks their first show with Thor moving from bass to guitar and the debut of Robb Johannes of Paint playing bass. Come out and experience the new band/sound for the first time!

1 year late as I had hoped to get this band down for the festival season last year it is never too late for almost perfectly done raw psychedelic indie-rock from one of the hot beds for such music, Halifax.

JANITORS are punky fuzzy rock out of Toronto and exactly the kind of band you want to get sloppy with as the night creeps into the after hours at Rancho during the dead of NXNE.
