When I hear this band I hear the same kinda innovative forward thinking take on hip-hop that I heard when I first stumbled upon Bad Bad Not Good. Full disclosure -- Bad Bad Not Good and I were on the verge of hooking up a show when they absolutely exploded. Thankfully we got to Zoo Legacy in time. Fresh off opening for the aforementioned Bad Bad Not Good in Ottawa last week!

In their previous incarnation Large LIVE n' Direct were one of my favourite acts in the city and the tradition continues with ChessClub. Making their debut at the Ranch under the new moniker and closing out the night with what is sure to be a set to remember. Check their new album released about a month back!
