Toronto Street Store

a FREE one-day clothing store for the homeless and under-resourced.

In January 2014, two individuals in Cape Town, South Africa, were called to serve. They were tired of seeing so many in need in their city, especially when there appeared to so many people with abundance. They wanted to help bridge the gap between their city’s ‘have and have-nots’ and so, created the The Street Store. Held on the streets, and run by volunteers, The Street Store creates an opportunity for the homeless and those with reduced resources to select much needed clothing, without any cost. FREE. It was a huge success and thousands of people were clothed. After realizing that poverty is not just a Cape Town issue, they decided to share their idea and open it up globally.

And that’s where we come in!

We will be having Toronto’s 1st Street Store in the Parkdale United Church hall and courtyard.

We will help ensure our guests leave with much-needed items, a free care package filled with useful products and quite possibly, a new friend.
