Three Cups Healing for Black Lives Matter
THREE CUPS is a collaboration between Salma Al Atassi, Gina Badger, and Alize Zorlutuna. Were offering intuitive readings and herbal healing in support of a larger initiative taking place across the continent, Healing Justice for Black Lives Matter Thursday 18 December 2014.
At the request of two of the co-founders of Black Lives Matter, Patrisse-Marie Cullors-Brignac and Alicia Garza, 100 of the money we raise will go to the Black Lives Matter Ferguson Bail and Support Fund. Resounding respect is due to the brilliant healers, Leah Lakshmi Piepzna-Samarasinha and Susan Raffo, who conceived of the template for this amazing initiative!

WHO ARE WE?
We are three Toronto-based novice healers humbly offering these services as a way to support ongoing resistance to racialized police violence in occupied North America.
Salma Al Atassi is Syrian born feminist and practitioner of herbal medicine. Her relationship to taking herbs for medicine started when she was a baby. Over the past five years she has rekindled that relationship and is currently completing her studies in Herbal Medicine at Diane Kents Clinic. In honour of her teta grandmother she has chosen to begin sharing her herbal practice by offering medicinal tea. For more info visit Boomas Tea. Salma has been using Tarot as a divination tool for 4 years and the Collective Tarot for 2 years.
Gina Badger is a kitchen witch and novice self-taught herbalist with a decades worth of experience growing and making herbal medicines and helping her loved ones stay healthy with simple food- and plant-based remedies. She will be formalizing her education at the Blue Otter School of Herbal Medicine in 2015. She has been learning and learning from the Collective Tarot for two years. Gina is a white settler of Western European ancestry born and raised on stolen Indigenous land.
Alize Zorlutuna is a Turkish-Canadian artist, poet, writer, dreamer. She has been giving private Tarot readings for the last 15 years, as a way to provide guidance, healing and insight to people in her life. She learned to read coffee grounds at the feet of her elders, rahmetli Gul Zorlutuna, Mubecel Teyze, and Azmi Zafer. She blends traditional symbolism with her own intuitive sense of signs.
WHAT ARE WE OFFERING?
We are offering herbal consultations and intuitive readings in 30-minute time slots, 11am 8pm on Thursday 18 December.
Custom Herbal Tea Dispensary with Salma
Salma will be dispensing custom herbal tea blends based on 30-minute individual consultations. For your blend, you can choose from 3-5 medicinal herbs, or leave it to her. Consultation includes a hot mug of tea.
Immunity-Building Consultation with Gina
Gina will be offering 30-minute consultations on how to build up your immunity. Especially relevant for cold and flu season, this consultation will cover nutrition and herbs to help build and maintain your bodys immune response. Consultation includes a hot mug of tea.
Turkish Coffee Reading with Alize
Alize will make you a cup of Turkish coffee according to the instruction of her elders. You will be invited to drink the coffee, leaving the grounds that pool at the bottom of the cup. These will be swirled, and the patterns that cool in the grounds will be the source material for an intuitive reading.
Tarot Readings with Salma, Gina, or Alize
For quite some time, all three of us have been consulting the tarot for friends and chosen family. We have decided to offer this service for a fee for the first time in order to support this crucial fundraising initiative. We will each be reading from the magical Collective Tarot.
HOW MUCH ARE WE CHARGING?
All appointments are by sliding scale, $20-$100. You decide what you can afford, no questions asked. Cash only.
WHERE WILL YOUR APPOINTMENT BE?
Appointments will be held in a private home in Toronto's west end. Accessibility info: ground floor, three steps up, and a single flight of stairs to the bathroom. Low scent, pet-free, non-smoking environment.
WHAT ELSE DO YOU NEED TO KNOW?
You are welcome to book more than one appointment. Once you have completed your booking, you will receive a confirmation email with location and contact information.
