The Wild Duck Project

Tickets are on sale now for Re:Current Theatre's ‘Wild Duck Project’ - a new contemporary adaptation, reimagining, and deconstruction of Henrik Ibsen’s cynical play ‘The Wild Duck’.

Hjalmar lives in a run-down flat with his wife Gina and their daughter Hedvig. The day after tomorrow Hedvig will turn fourteen. But when an unexpected guest arrives, after fifteen years of absence, he brings surprising revelations that unmask the hidden truths of the seemingly content family.

Lit entirely by the actors using four lamps and a set of flashlights, the performance is a mash-up of text from the play, personal testimonials from the performers, remixed classic pop and folk songs, and shadow puppetry. The project asks whether or not human beings can live their lives without telling a single lie.

Wild Duck Project asks if it is truly possible to live free and truthful, and if not, is it so bad to be false?
