About ALEXANDER BROWN CABRERA TRUMPET, LEADER

Alexander Brown Winner of the Cuba Disco International Music Fair as per the quality of performance and musical contributions to the DVD Jazz Cuba Today, twice Juno award-winning artist for his work with Sultan of Strings and Brandi Disterheft, and first place award at the Musicalia International Trumpet Competition; Alexander Brown has become one of the most vital and deft Latin trumpet player in Toronto vibrant musical scene.

In 1997, Alexander received his Masters degree in Classical Music at the Instituto Superior de Artes, one of Cubas foremost prestigious institutions. He continued at the same institution as a trumpet teacher until 2005.

Brown was also invited to play with saxophonist Dave Murray to record Murrays CD Now is Another Time, exposing Cuban artists to audiences across the globe. He also recorded on another of Murrays albums entitled David Murray and The Gwo-ka- Masters.
