The Dark Room 3.0 Preview Celebration & Voting Day

918 Bathurst Centre for Culture, Arts, Media + Education presents The Dark Room 3.0, an Open Exhibition of the 2014 Scotiabank CONTACT Photography Festival. The Dark Room 3.0 brings together emerging and established photographers who, in a field dominated by digitization, are not only preserving the knowledge and practices of analog and alternative photography but also testing the boundaries of this art form.

The exhibition will consist of two distinct components: On April 24 in the Great Hall at 918 Bathurst, all accepted submissions will be displayed in our Preview event - a public showcase and celebration during which the public and a jury of arts professionals will vote for the pieces to be shown in the second component, the official two-week exhibition running from May 2 – 15.

150 works by local and international artists have been selected for the Preview, a full day licensed event running from noon to 11:00 pm and featuring a diverse body of works in a variety of analog and mixed analog-digital mediums.

The Dark Room 3.0 is hosted with the support of our generous partners and sponsors: A Nerd’s World, AKIN Collective, Fenix Opportunity Fund, Gallery 44 Centre for Contemporary Photography, Grolsch, JP Produce Inc., Scotiabank Forest Hill branch, Toronto Image Works, and West Camera.
