Skin cancer is the most common cancer in Canada and melanoma, the most serious and often fatal form of skin cancer, is increasing in incidence. Melanoma is the most common cancer among 25 - 29 year olds and the second most common among Canadians aged 15-24. Fortunately, reducing exposure to UV radiation from the sun and avoiding indoor tanning can significantly decrease the risk of melanoma and the prognosis for melanoma patients is excellent if detected in its earliest stage.

DCMF is a registered nonprofit organization whose mission is to save lives from melanoma by promoting the importance of prevention and self-detection, and by funding research. DCMF was formed in 2007 in memory of David Cornfield, a courageous young man, who lost his fight at 32 years of age. For more information visit www.dcmf.ca or call 647-393-3263 (DCMF).
