What are little girls made of?

If your answer was, “sugar, spice, and everything nice,” then clearly you haven’t met little Rhoda Penmark, a vision of cuteness in pinafore and tap shoes, but deep within her is an unabashed evilness, with a hot-head on her shoulders that will stop at nothing to get what she wants. After a little boy mysteriously goes missing and then winds up dead, suspicions rise and townspeople begin to wonder if foul play was involved, especially considering there were half-moon bruises on his body the shape of sweet little Rhoda’s tap shoes…

Mervyn LeRoy’s adaptation of the novel The Bad Seed by Maxwell Anderson is a quintessential oddball delight for cinefreaks and -philes. Cited as one of cult icon John Waters’ favourite movies of all time, which we believe speaks volumes, this movie will satisfy the weirdo whims in all of us. Just make sure not to trust those cute little pigtails!
