PUBLIC PAINT DAY: Toronto's Street Artists Recognize World Cup with 110' Wide Mural

The Davenport Arts Community is celebrating the history of the World Cup and is inviting the public to come and pick up a brush and put the first marks of paint on this sprawling urban mural under the overpass at the corner of St. Clair Avenue & Caledonia Road – an area that has long been a hotbed for World Cup viewing. Public art should include the public from the start and this is a great kick-off to this prolific mural and a chance for all people to get involved or just show their support and meet the artists. There will be refreshments, a few original artist World Cup stencils for purchase through donation, and a few raffles and giveaways all in an effort to raise funds to support the development of this project.

Just bring yourself and a passion for the game, the art, the community or the city. All are welcome to attend and you can just watch and ask questions or choose to get involved and paint with the materials that have been generously donated by Steeles Paint – no experience necessary!

We look forward to seeing you on Saturday!
