POP-UP ART SHOW: Ambiguous Ardor

Common Base is pleased to present Ambiguous Ardor, an exhibition that aims to investigate the complex and contradictory nature of love, sex and emotion. Ambiguous Ardor will bring together selected works that represents the inherent tensions within contemporary relationships, the contentions with sex and gender constructs, and the contrast between digital and traditional affective proclamations. The works in this show will question "modern love" by way of various forms and symbols in search of whatever the f*** "modern love" is. “We can't help but incessantly think of the people that come into our lives in romantic ways more than anything else. Why?" says Mackenzie Davidson, artist.

Ambiguous Ardor will challenge the conventional wisdom of what is collectively defined as "modern love." The works in this show will represent 24 artists from diverse backgrounds ranging in ages 19-40, whose works illustrate their investigation of love, sex and emotion in the context of modernity. The intended audience is of the same demographic; open-minded and curious individuals who are intrigued by an exhibition that explores the tensions of what "modern love" means to so many.
