Playwalk: explore the nooks & crannies of your city

Playwalk is the practice of exploring the city for no other purpose than play. Playwalk invites you to discover nooks and crannies of the city, listen to the birds in sidewalk bushes and take over cool spots for a picnic under the sun. To Playwalk is to slowly overcome the intangible boundaries of what is possible and what can be done in the city.

To trigger your curiosity, ‘Playmissions’ are designed as your very own self-guided city walks for new experiences in the city and an opportunity for you to make your own narrative of familiar and unfamiliar places of your city.

A small shop at the Gladstone Hotel, April 24-27, will feature souvenirs inspired from Playwalks that have taken place in pilot neighbourhoods around Toronto. The shop will include urban artefacts, sound recordings, hand-drawn maps, found objects, and urban exploration toolkits . Come visit us to receive your own Playmission and participate in playful urban exploration.

Playwalk will be launched at the Gladstone GrowOP and is created by Society of Homo Ludens in collaboration with STUDIO JAYWALL.
