The Plaid Shirt Society was founded by Erin Klassen, Erik von Stackelberg and Kurtis Robinson in 2011 with the intention of paying tribute to our brother and best friend, Nicholas Klassen, who died suddenly on October 27th, 2009 from complications due to the H1N1 virus. Nick was a generous spirit and we hope to follow in his footsteps.

Shameless is a 100 volunteer-run, fiercely independent, feminist magazine for teen girls and trans youth, now in its 10th year of talking back.

Shameless is more than alternative magazine it is rooted in principles of social justice and anti-oppression. In addition to taking up much-needed space on the newsstands, they also make waves on the web http://shamelessmag.com, facilitate popular education programs in media literacy and creation for youth, host community events featuring young performers and writers, and serve as a platform for young and critical emerging writers and artists.
