Pizzaville Free Community Weekend at the 2016 Rogers Cup

Rogers Cup presented by National Bank kicks off Saturday July 23 with a weekend filled with free tennis and fun activities for everyone. The gates of Aviva Centre will open early and all spectators are welcome to participate in Pizzaville Free Community Weekend.

The grounds will be filled with world-class tennis, as several talented ATP athletes will be battling it out for a spot in the main draw. All of the matches will take place on the outer courts, which offer first-come, first-serve seating and plenty of up-close views.

Between matches, guests will find the grounds packed with plenty of different entertainment options. At the Kids Tennis Zone, young (and older!) guests can practice their forehands and backhands on mini-sized courts. Fans can also try and serve for prizes at the Tennis Canada Serve and Win promotion, taking place on Court 6. Just hit a target and you won’t leave empty-handed!

Fans will also have the chance to see some of their favourite ATP stars in a different setting. Make sure not to miss the autograph and Q&A session with an ATP star, happening Saturday and Sunday at the main stage.

Aside from tennis, fans can get their hands dirty – or sparkly! – at the Pizzaville Free Community Weekend craft station. Or they can jam out at the air guitar contest, happening on the main stage on both days. Through the weekend, fans can also participate in the Fan Challenge by using the Rogers Cup app and completing tasks at the various stations throughout the grounds. Winners – who will walk away with a prize pack – will be announced each afternoon!

And on Sunday, Centre Court will be transformed from a venue for tennis to a hockey arena. The Sportsnet Ball Hockey Challenge, always a popular event, will include NHL stars Connor McDavid, Tyler Seguin, Jason Spezza, Michael Del Zotto, and ATP players facing off and showing their skills.

Be sure to also download the Rogers Cup app to stay-up-to-date on all the match results and happenings around the grounds. With so much to do on and off the court and admission free for everyone on both July 23 and 24, Pizzaville Free Community Weekend is an event not-to-be-missed!
