Pivot on March 11th: Vincent Colistro, Nicholas Power, Priscila Uppal, & Jane Woods

Pivot turns its back hopefully on the worst of winter and towards this eccentric little show scheduled just before the deluge of new spring books. We think youll love it. Psychotherapist and poet Nicholas Power is joined by emerging poet and newlywed Vincent Colistro, Griffin nominee Priscila Uppal, and Goose Lane-published novelist Jane Woods. Some great people and you should sincerely be there.

Cast List:

Vincent Colistros poetry has appeared in various publications, including The Walrus, Hazlitt and Geist. His first book of poetry, Late Victorians, is forthcoming with Vehicule Press.

Nicholas Power is a founding member of the Meet the Presses collective, and has performed with the sound poetry ensemble Alexanders Dark Band. He works as a psychotherapist in private practice. He has been published by Underwhich Editions wells, The Writing Space a modest device and Battered Press No Poems. His collection, Melancholy Scientist, was published in 2014.

Priscila Uppal was born in Ottawa and currently lives in Toronto where she is a poet, fiction writer, academic, and professor of Humanities and English at York University.She is the author of nine books of poetry, two novels, a memoir, and a critical study of elegies. Her 2006 collection Ontological Necessities was a finalist for the Griffin Poetry Prize and her 2013 memoir Projection was a finalist for both the GG Award and Weston Prize for Nonfiction. Her newest book is Cover Before Striking, a collection of stories out recently with Dundurn Press. .

Jane Woods spent a decade working in Canadian regional theatre before settling in Montreal to work as a voice actress. Later, she began translating and adapting French-language films and television series to be dubbed into English. She lives in Toronto, where she continues to work as a translator. She is the author of The Walking Tanteek, a novel released in 2014.
