DJ Mama Knows drops the beats and artist Cameron Lee joins us with a special feature. Plus, hit the after-party at Drake One Fifty.

For Party Politics, Lee brings Instant Fashion Show to DX. This is an ongoing project where invited guests bring clothing, costumes, fabric and accessories to a location with the intent to trade, style and share, spending little to no money. The project has roots in clothing swaps between friends (often ending with a modelling of chosen items in a fashion show presentation) and the performance/happening Tops n’ Bottoms, initiated by Toronto artists Karen Azoulay and Joel Gibb in 2002. DJs play music to build the participants’ energy and loosen their inhibitions. Instant Fashion Show joyfully thumbs its nose at convention, in a free exchange of goods and ideas about how to express yourself through fashion and music.

Party Politics attendees may observe the performance, or participate by bringing an accessory and/or laundered item of clothing to swap.

Admission includes refreshments, food and entry to Politics of Fashion | Fashion of Politics.
