Open Roof Festival

Toronto fans of indie film and music will get another chance to watch their favourite stars under the stars, as the Open Roof Festival (ORF) continues for its fifth season, Festivalgoers are in for a ride, as Locke closes the evening. Director Steven Wright’s critically acclaimed film, shot entirely in real time in the interior of a BMW, stars Tom Hardy as Ivan Locke. Hardy plays a construction foreman who abandons his family to be with the co-worker he had a one-night stand with seven months earlier, after she goes into premature labour.

Before hitting the road with Locke, ORF audiences can enjoy the guitar-driven pop stylings of Weaves, a band Rolling Stone calls “a Toronto-based foursome who bend pop tropes as if they’re made of Silly Putty.”

The evening’s custom menu crafted by 99 Sudbury’s in-house chefs echoes the automobile setting of the film with a “Drive-Thru” spin. Plus, a diverse selection of food items from Cool City Oyster Yard, and beers from ORF’s long-standing partner Amsterdam Brewery.
