Nite Comfort 47 - Hybrid Frequency, Stargoon

This episode of the Nite features ceaselessly creative creatures of the Toronto scene, nocturnal beings who appear suddenly next to you at one noisy show or another, Syd Ortega's Hybrid Frequency, and Stargoon, star baby of Joe Strutt and The Night Shift on CJRU 1280AM's Luca Capone (along with starchild Matthew Fava).

Hybrid Frequency seeks to find that connection between the logic and non-logic sounds by experimenting with different sources, mostly natural and organic. Including Latin-American folk instruments such as “quenas” and “ocarinas” among others to give color and texture to the subtle soundscapes that overlay the noisy walls made by many different tools such as synthesizers, made electronic devices, effect pedals and field recordings.

Formed to entertain hippies and named by a neural network programmed to create new paint colours, Stargoon is a reckless attempt to create spontaneous kosmische grooves.

Music starts 9pm, PWYC.
