Invented praise for New Synecdoches of The Super Actuality

a series of videos that are connected, not so much by a thesis as such, but a common compulsion.

-Mort Ford Galleria, Fall 2013

[Forresters] fetishization of cheap old media has almost evolved to the common era and now includes DVDs, which he has littered on the wall in constellations no doubt, belying some tenuous correspondence. Whether the progression in technology is for actual aesthetic reasons DVDs do keep with Forresters fascination with shiny surfaces or simply to remind us of how old were getting has never been clear to me considering the extra physical/memory space he has to continue with his iterative poetry, one wonders what obscene things hell do with usb drives once they become affordable in bulk.

-Mulder Frock Whats A Meta For, 2014

there is something enjoyable about finding a dvd in the space, placing it in the machine and seeing what is on it often a short 3 minute video of [Forrester] reading a poem, sometimes 3 hours of static scored by a loop of cocktail music. It is a little frustrating to think though that the dvds have all probably been so scrambled by other visitors that any significance to their placement has been long since lost.

-Martha Fender Ocean Sand Monthly, 2014

touring the wall, I came across three dvds that were almost identical the only difference being a slight change of font for the subtitles, or the duration of an image. Is Forresters real desire to become the next Ridley Scott? What have we done to deserve this?

--Miriam Floss Porridge, 2014

At heart, Forrester was a stunted aesthete the shows title belied a fairly concise, if somewhat trite, reckoning of THE SUPER ACTUALITY. THE SUPER ACTUALITY is everything and thus any image that Forrester could put on display would be an encapsulation of everything and thus an apt synecdoche of reality. Ho-hum. Indeed, Forresters basic understanding of this made a great deal of capital for his show, which spoke more to the beauty of THE SUPER ACTUALITY that such a rudimentary explanation of it could still render it so well.

-Mimetoso Folvo Hyper Criticalia Quartlery, 2016

How many times can a person make me listen to rooms being compared to spleens?

-Mucho Fraise Canadian Comparisons Magazine, 1973

Still continuing with his Super Actuality project, Forrester seems to be trying to come to new conclusions as to what the Super Actuality could be. The overlapping nature of the content on each discrete dvd, which Forrester refers to as fractured tesselations Forrester, 2014, has distinct juxtapositions of the same images occurring across several dvds. Whether these variations are based on whim or oulipo-styled restraints is not entirely clear, however it does keep with Forresters sensibility aside from the po-mo-baroque trappings he likes to ornament his work with of the gallery as workshop and space for warts and all experimentation.

-Molly Furmquist The New Lit E-Mag, 2014

Forrester likes three things: His thesaurus, loud noises, and making people stand in the dark.

-Moult Fluke New Voices, 1989
