Music in St. James Park: Raoul and the Big Time & free blues dance class

Join us on Thursday, June 11th, from 7-9pm, for a FREE concert by Raoul and the Big Time, as a part of Old Town Toronto's Music in St. James Park concert series. Come to the park at 6:30pm for a free blues dance tutorial courtesy of Swing Toronto.

Raoul and The Big Time is one highly regarded blues act in Canada having performed at major festivals including Montreal International Jazz Festival, The Kitchener Blues Festival, The Ottawa Bluesfest, Vancouver Folk Festival, Orangeville Jazz and Blues, The South Side Shuffle, Beaches International Jazz, Toronto International Jazz Festival, Mont Tremblant Blues, Salmon Arm Roots and Blues and many more.

Since forming in the summer of 1998 they have released four records to critical acclaim - BIG TIME BLUES (2000), COLD OUTSIDE (2004), YOU MY PEOPLE (2009) and BLUE MIDNIGHT: A LIVE TRIBUTE TO LITTLE WALTER (2010) which feature guest appearances by Junior Watson, Mark Hummel, Big Joe Maher and a who’s who of Canadian Jazz and Blues. 1999 Maple Blues Award Winners for BEST NEW ARTIST they were also selected in 2007 by Toronto's NOW Magazine as Best Blues Artist. They have performed as part of many major festivals including having opened for the likes of Buddy Guy, Bobby “Blue” Bland, The Downchild Blues Band and have played with the likes of Bettye Lavette, Alvin Youngblood Hart, Billy Boy Arnold, Mark Hummel, Junior Watson, Big Dave Mclean and many more. They were recorded for CBC Radio CANADA LIVE and SATURDAY NIGHT BLUES in July 2010.
