Fond of the seventh art, Alliance Française Toronto now offers a new scheduled event: Thursday Movie. A specialist, a movie critic, a film studies professor, a director or a historian will display each screening. The program includes a set of documentaries, French cinema, contemporary French cinema and classics.

In addition, a few special events with our partners: the European Film Festival, the Black Film Festival, Le Labo, Cinéfranco and the Front des Réalisateurs Indépendants du Canada (FRIC).

Synopsis: In the 16th century in the Cévennes, a horse dealer by the name of Michael Kohlhaas leads a happy family life. When a lord treats him unjustly, he raises an army and puts the country to fire and sword in order to have his rights restored.
