London Philharmonic Orchestra

Only once in the Hall’s history has the peerless London Philharmonic Orchestra appeared on stage at Roy Thomson. Indeed, the LPO is considered one of the finest orchestral ensembles in the world. It’s the resident orchestra at the Royal Festival Hall in London and every summer it plays the same role at the Glyndebourne Festival Opera. And if you ever saw Lord of the Rings, the LPO is who you heard for the entire trilogy.

The Orchestra will be led by its Principal conductor, Vladimir Jurowski, who is also Principal Guest Conductor of the Russian National Orchestra and a Principal Artist of the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment.

Maestro Jurowski and the Orchestra will be joined by multi award-winning French pianist, Jean-Efflam Bavouzet, who’s been hailed as one of the most engaging performers of his generation.
