Lecture: Throwback on an unusual reign - Pharaoh Akhenaten and the cult of the sun-god Aten

Egyptologist Jean Revez will tell us the story of Akhenaten’s reign, a one of a kind Pharaoh who revolutionized religious beliefs and art during his time.

Under Akhenaton Egypt will experience a remarkable period of changes and one of the most fascinating spiritual and religious experiences in the history of mankind. Akhenaton was all at once the first Prophet of history (but also a fake one), a mystic Pharaoh and a radical rationalist. Ever since the 19th century, Akhenaton's character captivates the Westerners.
