Part of the 13th Annual Small World Asian Music Series

Presented in association with Lula Lounge

As kLoX Gurpreet Chana 'The Tabla Guy' and Mason Bach melodically unite modulated tabla and electronically processed violin by integrating their classical training with computer aided performance technology. Sonically expansive soundscapes employing uniquely engineered rhythmic patterns will move you to explore the vast reaches of dance floor oriented electronic music.

'Both play their traditional instruments together, plugged into laptops so that the sound can be looped and manipulated by the performers on the fly. What result are layers of tabla beats and violin melodies whipped into a swirl of energetic sound.' - John Teradus, The Toronto Star

Snowday's self-released debut album, As We Travel, is a beautiful collection of instrumental ambient electronic music that makes for a great chillout companion that plays equally well as background music. But for their live set, longtime friends Cam Sloan and Chad Skinner made sure to bring the dynamism and bewitch the audience into fully delving into their world. With the help of drummer Tait Rowsell, the music took on a whole other dimension, making the album's instrumentation come alive ... Snowday performed with such verve and passion that those who were in attendance would be sure to remember the evening. - Exclaim
