Is it time for journalists to abandon the ideal of neutrality?

Traditionally journalists have been expected to be neutral, non-partisan, and dispassionate in relation to the stories they cover. But is that possible? Does it serve the public interest? Is it time to abandon this approach? These issues will be addressed in a lively discussion by an expert panel.

Lee-Anne Goodman - Senior Editor-Business & Ontario for Canadian Press

Ivor Shapiro - Professor and Chair of the Ryerson School of Journalism

James L. Turk - Director of Centre for Free Expression at Ryerson’s Faculty of Communication and Design

The panel will be moderated by Bernie Lucht, former Executive Producer of CBC Ideas.
