The latest crisis of capitalism has plunged Europe into disarray. As one government after another has been forced to implement the harshest of austerity measures, new parties and formations begun to arise. Traditional governing parties have been discredited, and there has been a growth to the left and to the right. This has shocked many, and some have raised the spectre of "fascism". But what is the actual situation in Europe? Is fascism really on the rise?
Join us for a discussion on the situation in Europe, the fight against austerity, and the threat of fascism, featuring guest speaker Erik Demeester. Erik is the the editor of the Belgian Marxist magazines Vonk and Rvolution. He has decades of experience in the Belgian labour movement, and is a member of the Committees Against Austerity in Europe.
