International Lecture Series - Maria Lind

Maria Lind is a curator and critic based in Stockholm, where she is the Director of Tensta Konsthall.

The 2009 recipient of the Walter Hopps Award for Curatorial Achievement, Maria Lind has contributed widely to newspapers, magazines, catalogues and anthologies. A compendium of her essays, Selected Maria Lind Writing 2010, was published by Sternberg Press.

For her appearance at The Power Plant, Lind will discuss her experience of working with contemporary art at a cultural centre located in the Stockholm suburb of Tensta. A late modernist residential area with approximately 20,000 inhabitants, Tensta has presented a challenging site for considerations of representational issues including inhabitation, embeddedness and autonomy.

Lind will also lead a workshop the day prior to her lecture. Titled Contemporary Collaborative Strategies, it is free to those who have secured tickets to Lind's talk.
