How Does Your Neighbourhood Grow?: Typology & sustainability in the mid-rise debate

How Does Your Neighbourhood Grow?, an exhibit exploring the typology of urban growth and densification, will open at Urbanspace Gallery on September 25. Through a study of the urban development histories of seven major, global cities, the exhibit will analyze key "tipping points" in the urban growth trajectory that produce distinct patterns of development and architectural typologies. Culminating in an exploration of Toronto's own development, the exhibit will examine the natural, economic, social, and cultural factors influencing the ways in which growth and density are made manifest in our city.

How Does Your Neighbourhood Grow? is presented by the Centre for City Ecology, in partnership with Urbanspace Gallery, and forms the basis of an initial discussion leading into the CCE's Mid-Rise City Builder Camp. The exhibit will be on display at Urbanspace Gallery from September 25 - November 9, 2014. Urbanspace Gallery is located on the ground floor of 401 Richmond Street West, and is open to the public from Monday to Saturday, 9am-7pm.
