HIP-HOP KARAOKE Competition Semi-Finals with MONOLITH
For the 5th Annual HHK Competition Edition we've decided to run things a little differently.
This year we're introducing a preliminary round Semi-Finals of HHK to determine the final cream-of-the-crop performers for September's Competition Finals.
Doors and sign-up begin at 10:00pm. We have 20 spaces available, on a first-come, first-serve basis, so arriving early is obviously encouraged if you wish to compete spots are going to go very fast! The Semi-Finals are open to everyone! Song selection is also first-come, first-serve, so prepare at least one back-up tune just in case! Songs performed MUST be on our existing song list, found on our website hhktoronto.com . We ask for no group/posse cuts solo performances only to keep things fair. Example: you can do "Protect Ya Neck" but you have to perform it alone.
The TOP 10 performers from this August Semi-Finals will go on to compete in September for the ultimate crown.
Performances will be judged based on crowd reaction/participation, use of stage/animated performance, familiarity with material i.e. memorization & delivery of lyrics, breath control, as well as bonus points for incorporation of creative dance moves. Your judges for the evening will be Toronto hip-hop legends MONOLITH consisting of Dan-e-o, Korry Deez, Black Cat, Grimace Love, and Lancecape.
