Fundraiser for Home Of Joy Charity

H2O is coming to Toronto for the first time in order to expand your vision of dance. H2O is a dance competition that aims to bring a different and rewarding experience to the dancers. This event is open to all contemporary and street dancers and dancers in other styles that wants to go out of the box. This dance event is incorporating a well known concept of urban dance called a '' Battle . It is a two 2 against two 2 exchange done bare feet recommended where all dancers have to IMPROVISE.

The 2 past editions of H2O were a real success. Music and dancers took us to another world. This is an evening that lets room for inspiration and openness. We're now in your city to give you the chance to participate if you haven't yet had this experience. It's a time for you to let go, to share with others and to be inspire by the present moment.

This event is open to ALL!

Everybody who is attending need to bring ID; under aged will be identified since the event happens in a venue with a bar. Thank you !

We are honored to have Allen Kaeja, Esie Mensah and Lee Pham as judges for this event!

The five criterias that the judges will be observing during the battles:

SPACE: use of space dance area and four levels Ground, middle, high and air

BODY: Vocabulary varied angular, linear motion, circular etc..

The virtuosity and complexity of the movement. Control and power etc.

ENERGY: Variety in energy jerky, slow, dynamic, fluid, etc..

CREATIVITY / ORIGINALITY

INTERPRETATION / Connection with the music, your partner, spectators and yourself

Winners of the H2O Toronto Edition will be invited as guest dancers for our Montral edition on February 7th !!

This year we are supporting a Charity called Homes Of Joy which strive to provide orphaned children with the support needed to cope with both the immediate and long-term consequences of HIV/AIDS, conflict, and poverty.We need your support in order to help Homes Of Joy achieve this beautiful goal.

Previous projects :

First edition:

Let Your Art Flow participated in the construction of a water filtration station in the village of Ndiaganiao in Senegal. To this date, this village of over 2,000 people is still benefiting from clean and drinkable water. This project is what initiated the creation of the event H2O.

Second edition:

Let Your Art Flow supported the CECI, an organization that focuses on the fights against the violence done to women which is very present in the Great Lakes area of Africa Burundi , Democratic Republic of Congo DRC and Rwanda . Therefore a first aspect of the project is to give victims access to holistic services health, legal, psychosocial, socio -economic reintegration through stakeholders.

Each year Let your art flow will continue to give its profits to humanitarian agencies. We believe that the Arts can be used with a great purpose, in a non-profit way, in order to support collective growth in our communities but also in communities living through social or environmental injustices in Africa.
