Toronto's Delusions of Grandeur is this decade's answer to the Canadian Arts and Crafts revolution of the early 2000's. Though still in its embryonic stages, the group boasts an all-star lineup of Toronto's young improvisers and composers. The group will releasing its debut EP, Comforts of the Flesh, this fall. The seven piece ensemble's jazz informed Canadiana contains hints of 90's lo-fi, blue-eyed soul and free improv. The group is built on guitarist and composer, David Riddel's melody driven, somber, folkloric songs, but dark turns are often taken in extended improvisations and on-the-spot interpretations of the music.
