From Scotland With Love: Film & Acoustic Musical Performance

The Revue Cinema screens From Scotland With Love followed by live acoustic set by King Creosote and Michael Johnston.

From Scotland With Love is a documentary featuring Scottish archive footage, with a captivating and mesmerizing soundtrack by Scottish artist King Creosote. Antique double-decker trams traverse the monochrome streets to the strains of a winsome accordion. Flat-capped shipbuilders hammer out the support struts of transport ships to a pounding drumbeat. There’s even, set to a stirring Celtic crescendo, rare black-and-white footage of Scottish football fans celebrating.

Of the film, Creosote notes: “it's basically just looking at ourselves in the past – it's like looking at your grandparents' or your great grandparents' generation goofing about, just doing what they're doing. But you have to remember that it wasn't the past for them - they were right at the cutting edge of time like we are now."
