FILMS WITH BITE: THE DOG DOUBLE BILL AT THE BLOOR HOT DOCS CINEMA

On August 16, the Bloor Hot Docs Cinema presents a double bill of THE DOG and DOG DAY AFTERNOON. Both films depict the life of notorious John Wojtowicz who rose to fame after attempting to rob a Brooklyn bank in order to finance his lover’s sex-reassignment surgery. In 1975, three years after the highly-publicized incident, Al Pacino portrayed Wojtowicz in the Oscar-winning DOG DAY AFTERNOON.

Catch both films for only $17 ($12 for Bloor members). THE DOG screens at 6:30 PM, followed by DOG DAY AFTERNOON at 8:45 PM.
