FREE FILMS AT THE BELLJAR

TORONTO Residents of Torontos west-end can indulge in the summer weather while enjoying some of their favourite films. Dundas West cafe, the Belljar has announced the recent addition of their film series taking place on the cafes lush and airy back patio. Running weekly until September, the Belljar will offer a wide variety of screenings featuring all things classic and campy for film lovers of all ages including films such as The Empire Strikes Back July 30th, Aliens August 5th and Nostalgia for the Light August 12th.

A variety of special guests will be taking over film screening duties at the Belljar Cafe, including Mackenzie Duncan who is has chosen Holy Motors, written and directed by Leos Carax.

Other events happening at the Belljar include:

Toronto food, fat and feminist blog Fat Girl Food Squad will be hosting a three part film series launching on Thursday July 17 with the film, A Place at the Table. A discussion by FoodShares Julie Nowak, Student Nutrition Community Development will take place on food security and health at every size.

Opened since 2010, The Belljar Cafe was inspired by the Sylvia Plath novel and rocks a retro yet homey look and feel by co-owners Geoffrey McPeek and Lisa Kannakko. Youll find brunch on the weekends and delicious cafe offerings all week long.
