Estonian National Male Choir Performs with the Cathedral Bluffs Symphony Orchestra

Gorgeous music by Mozart, Brahms, Arvo Pärt and more is on the program when the Grammy-winning, 55-member Estonian National Male Choir joins the Cathedral Bluffs Symphony Orchestra in its second of two Toronto concerts.

Mikk Üleoja, the choir’s chief conductor and artistic director, shares conducting duties with the CBSO’s Norman Reintamm. Mezzo-soprano Christina Campsall and the Toronto Estonian Male Choir are also featured. Highlights include the Canadian premiere of Estonian composer Arvo Pärt’s Da Pacem Domini, in a new version for string orchestra and male choir; as well as Mozart’s Ave Verum Corpus, Brahms’ Alto Rhapsody, and other Estonian compositions.

Tickets, $53/33, are available via 416-879-5566. For tour info, visit www.facebook.com/estotour.

Maestro Reintamm lauds the Choir as “one of the crown jewels of Estonian culture. Its performances and recordings reflect Estonian music both centuries old and contemporary, as well as the great choral repertoire of the Baltic region and further afield.”
