WHO WE ARE

Bar Chess T.O. is a boutique organization that seeks to build a community of adults in Toronto by offering an alternative to online social life. Chess is a powerful tool that allows strangers to simply come together and interact in person, and away from hectic everyday life.

CHESS BASICS

Chess Basics is an absolute beginners chess class for players who do not know anything about chess. Learn the rules of chess, how the pieces move, and how they capture. After this class, you will be able to confidently play a game of chess from start to finish!

WHY CHESS?

There are many benefits to learning how to play chess - it can raise IQ, improves memory, increases critical thinking and creativity. There are no barriers to chess - culture, age, language, religion doesn't matter and the rules are the same all over the world. Most importantly, chess can also be a powerful tool that allows people to simply come together and interact in person, and away from hectic Toronto life.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

For the first hour, while sipping your favourite drink, you will be taught a specific chess lesson. For the second hour, have another drink and test out your new skills while playing casual chess with new friends.
