In this collection, elemetal, you'll discover the unconscious collusion between Jamie Thompson's photos of distressed walls and Annalise Walmer's rusted metal assemblages. Jamie scours the city's streets and alleys, capturing glimpses of urban decay while Annalise combs the city for detritus of man-made machines and everyday items for her sculptures.
Their works combined echo the ubiquitous, graffitti-covered walls and fences of Toronto, with Jamie providing the walls and Annalise the text. Individually and collectively, they are able to find beauty in unexpected places and things.
