Early Monthly Segments #72 Three recent works from Forum Lenteng, Indonesia

“…Don’t you get attracted with the yellow rice, waving palm trees and the tranquilly standing mountain though clouds cover it? Don’t you hear the sound of the wind-blown shepherd‘s flute? Did you ever see the patient buffalo with its beautiful horns? All of that is singing in my heart. It is so unfortunate to describe it recklessly. I know Indonesia and want to describe it as I see it everyday.” – Ernest Dezentje

We’re very happy to present three works from Jakarta’s Forum Lenteng selected in consultation with Otty Widasari and Yuki Aditya. Forum Lenteng is an egalitarian non-profit organization that was founded in July 2003. The Forum works to develop empowered social and cultural studies as a vehicle to examine the problems of culture in Indonesia and elsewhere. The videos are but a few examples of an extensive scene that circulates around Forum Lenteng and ARKIPEL, their annual festival of documentary and experimental film.

The work will be shown as digital files.
