Artistic Director, celebrated creator and established performer Gerry Trentham premieres Experiment b - a testament to the beauty and hardship of a life close to the ground, enveloped by nature. Written, choreographed, designed and performed by Trentham, Experiment b celebrates a journey from simple conversation and gesture through to the seamless interplay of dance, theatre, sound, visual and media design.

Sara Does a Solo 60 min

Artistic Associate and powerhouse performer/writer/ choreographer Sara Porter presents her major new work Sara Does a Solo as a return to the stage. A surprise of stories, songs and dances blended with her trademark humour. With poetry and humour, Porter reflects on her recent years away from dance on the domestic front and writing fiction. Prompted by a chance encounter with singer Mary Margaret OHara, Sara does a Solo is a mature and complex meditation on parenthood, artistry and life. Created and performed by Sara Porter

This Double Bill celebrates a brand new collaboration between Porter and Trentham who share a passion for fearless investigation into the interplay between the dancers and writer's worlds. These two bold new productions extrapolate the intimate experience of reading into full performance productions where story, design, humour and music weave seamlessly with dance. Trentham and Porters dynamic and distinct visual designs enhanced by Simon Rossitor's innovative lighting animate the studio setting of the renovated classroom at Artscape Youngplace Torontos hopping new multi-arts centre on Shaw Street.
